Baltimore has done it again.
The region regarded as a hotbed for punk and hardcore has fruited yet another promising prospect in the punk, metal, hardcore hybrid of Gasket. The band signed to industry disruptor Blue Grape Music and has now confirmed their full length, self-titled debut. The album is set to arrive November 21st and follows the acclaim of the band's introductory EPs in Dull the Needle (2023) and Babylon (2024).
In a relatively short amount of time, the band's quick ascension is a direct result of their volatile mesh of punk ethos, hardcore disposition and metallic hostility. Combined, the result is a sound that is both simple and effective - less about reinventing the wheel but rather using it to run over anyone in their path.
Paired with the news of the pending release, Gasket have shared the music video for the track, "Blood to Bone" - a belligerent show of force that presents the band's stylistic meld. "'BLOOD TO BONE' is the first song we wrote after we released the BABYLONEP," says singer Flynn Zimmer. "It's about being put in uncomfortable positions and wronged by a friend."
The music video is directed by Austin Gomez and focuses on the band's live volatility, combining performance footage as well as a glimpse at the band's explosive live sets.
