Queens of the Stone Age have confirmed the October 30th release of their next full length album, Perfecth. The band's ninth studio album follows the universal praise of their 2023 LP, In Times New Roman...
The news of the latest album also includes the reveal of the next single, "Insignificant Other". The sultry, soulful single builds on the acoustic melody of "Easy Street" which landed earlier this summer. Homme explained the emotional core of the single, "It’s a song about distance. About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.”
As for Perfecth, the album was produced by the band's own Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman. Taking inspirational cues from the Japanese art of kintsugi, which mends broken pottery with gold-tinted lacquer, Homme explained how the patchwork concept worked with the themes of the record.
"Every song sounds like it's from a different world, and that's on purpose, because it's trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that."
Homme also spoke about the album's unconventional title, detailing how the poetic license equates to a bit more emotional depth. “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth’. And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”
Along with the drop of the band's new album, Homme and company will be on the road with a run of live dates including headlining dates in Australia and Japan, festival appearances and supporting dates with Foo Fighters. See the list of dates below.
