New York post-hardcore heavyweights Quicksand continue en route to the July 17th arrival of their first full length release in five years, Bring On The Psychics. Thus far, the band has revealed a trio of singles with songs like "Regenerate," "Get To It" and "Crystalize" all serving as emphatic reminders of the band's undeniable songwriting prowess and continued endurance as genre staples.
For the latest reveal from the album, Quicksand has channeled the confrontational spirit of greats like Minor Threat's "Small Man, Big Mouth" and Negative Approach's "Hypocrite" for their entry to the catalog of post-hardcore diss tracks. On "Cool Guy," the band's locomotive groove is paired with guitarist/vocalist Walter Schreifels's sharp take on edgelords.
The arrival of the single is bolstered by a new music video helmed by Jesse Korman that captures the band's live electricity along with the contentious tone of the track.
The newest single lands as the band prepare for a monthlong trek of dates across the United States with support from BANE and Soul Blind. The summer tour further adds to the swell of excitement surrounding the band as they prepare to launch their next era. Working with producer Jon Markson (Drug Church, Drain), Bring On The Psychics, ambitiously sets out to combine Quicksand's vintage heavy sound with their more progressive, experimental range as veteran songwriters.
The tour will begin August 3rd in Norvolk, VA. and close out September 3rd in Boston, MA. The US summer run will mark the first run of headlining dates in support of the Equal Vision Records' release. A confirmed list of dates and cities can be found below.
