Accomplished Lamb of God frontman and published author Randy Blythe released his second book, Just Beyond The Light: Making Peace With The Wars Inside Our Head to widespread acclaim. In support of the release, Blythe set out on a comprehensive book tour that cast one of metal's most dominant frontmen in a much different light - one that showcased his talent as a wordsmith and a true orator.
For Blythe, the effort marks his second crack at long form publishing, having released his lauded longform debut in 2015, Dark Days: A Memoir. His initial release dove into great detail the frontman's life-changing experience in the Czech Republic in which the frontman faced a lengthy legal ordeal trial stemming from a tragic incident at a Lamb of God concert in 2010.
For the follow-up book, Blythe detailed his approach to life and maintaining a sense of positivity and optimism, despite living in a world that often nurtures chaos and division.Blythe confided the book was his "tight, concise roadmap of how I have attempted to maintain what I believe to be a proper perspective in life, even during difficult times."
Detailing his sobriety, along with his continued passion for art, photography and surfing, the frontman delves into themes of self-empowerment, self-discovery and the kind of resilience it took to see that through. Blythe also conveys a sense of responsibility to impart some of that hard-earned wisdom in an effort to leaver the world a bit better than how he found it.
Those themes were further emphasized on the subsequent, An Evening with Randy Blythe Just Beyond the Light Book Tour that proceeded the release of the book. Over the course of a month, Blythe touched down in designated cities to connect with fans without the stage risers and pyrotechnics - sharing excerpts from his book and speaking candidly with fans for a question and answer portion that underscored the humanity between the pages of his book.
While the tour was a resounding success, logistics would unfortunately force things to be cut short with the final three California book tour dates left to be rescheduled. Ready to complete the last three stops of the tour, Blythe, after a brief pause, is now due to touch down in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego for a victory lap of sorts - giving fans the chance to get some face time with the veteran frontman, activist and heavy culture advocate.
