Deadset on pushing the boundaries of extremity, death metal modernists Sanguisugabogg have announced their third full length studio effort, Hideous Aftermath.
Due out October 10th via Century Media Records, the album also marks an important first for the collective, entrusting the venerated Kurt Ballou to take on production of the release - the first time anyone outside the band has put hands on a 'Bogg record. The album follows the acclaim of the band's 2023 release, Homicidal Ecstasy, an effort that propelled the band as extreme metal flagbearers resulting in a whirlwind two year stretch of relentless touring.
On Hideous Aftermath, the aim was to level up on all fronts - a task accomplished and then some according to frontman Devin Swank. "It's definitely our most death metal record, our most personal record, our most focused and brutal record to date. It's the one where we rolled our sleeves up and brought our A-Game."
Paired with the news of the pending full length, Sanguisugabogg have launched the latest preview from the project with the on-brand, NSFW release, "Abhorrent Contraception". Recruiting Josh Welshman from Defeated Sanity to bolster the track, the brutality is in abundance on a single that strikes with devastating results.
“As a death metal band diving deep in dark tropes of fantasy and exaggerated real life horrors, this song is a timeless classic with a theme very tried and true with our genre and it's about the slaughter of an entire family and the unborn," says Sanguisugabogg.
Among the healthy roister of guest contributors to the album, Sanguisugabogg's third album will include features from Todd Jones of Nails, Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation, Dylan Walker of Full of Hell and PeelingFlesh.
In the lead up to the fall release, Sanguisugabogg will take on a stretch of summer tour dates, including an appearance at Unhinged Festival in Denver with Knocked Loose, Lamb of God, Power Trip, The Dillinger Escape Plan and more.
