Earlier this summer, Ohio brutalizers Sanguisugabogg announced their third full length studio effort, Hideous Aftermath.
Due out October 10th via Century Media Records, the album amarks an important first for the collective, recruiting Kurt Ballou as producer on the album - the first time anyone outside the band has put hands on a 'Bogg record. The album follows the acclaim of the band's 2023 release, Homicidal Ecstasy, an effort that thrust the band to the head of extreme music's emerging class resulting in whirlwind two year stretch of relentless touring.
Further evidence of the band's rising stock comes in the form of their latest announcement of their own fall headlining tour. The monthlong stretch of dates features Sanguisugabogg on the top line, kicking off November 4th in Motor City, Detroit, and closing out with a glorious homecoming November 30th in Columbus, OH. Confirmed as support on the tour, Canadian deathcore collective Despised Icon joins the caravan who will be supporting the release of Shadow Work due out Halloween, October 31st via Nuclear Blast Records. The album is the band's seventh and first new material since 2019's Purgatory.
Also set to support, Defeated Sanity and Corpse Pile will open each night of the tour.
The announcement follows the recent unveiling of the single "Abhorrent Contraception". Recruiting Josh Welshman from Defeated Sanity, the brutality of the track offers a powerful preview of the band's new era and their potent combination of the 'Bogg along with an assist from their tour mates in Defeated Sanity.
Speaking on the new album Hideous Aftermath, frontman Devin Swank details the intention of leveling up on all fronts. "It's definitely our most death metal record, our most personal record, our most focused and brutal record to date. It's the one where we rolled our sleeves up and brought our A-Game."
