Punk progressives Scowl have shared another effective preview from their forthcoming full length, Are We All Angels, the band's debut on Dead Oceans.
Following the excitement generated with the introductory singles in "Special" and the fiery "Not Hell, Not Heaven", Scowl return with single that showcases a healthy dose of melody while not compromising the explosiveness that has defined the band thus far.
Speaking to the motivation behind the track, Scowl explained how the song borrows stylistic shades from their previous work and how the lyrics speak to the rigors of dedicating your life to your craft.
“Another explosion of emotions stemming from both overwhelm and excitement. We felt that the song’s punchy nature and quick switches from melody to scrapping angst resembles a mature version of ‘Shot Down’ from our Psychic Dance Routine EP. Lyrically ‘B.A.B.E’ dives into our vitriol for the extreme circumstances we as a band subject ourselves too in order to live our dreams.”
Along with the latest serving from the pending album, Scowl have confirmed additional touring plans for 2025. Following the band's spring run of the U.S. supporting Movements and Citizen in March and April, Scowl will travel abroad for a stretch of EU/UK dates that will culminate with an appearance at Slam Dunk Festival in Hatfield Park and Leeds. The run will feature special guest Modern Color and kicks off May 5th in Manchester with a performance at Rebellion.
