Pittsburgh deathcore purveyors Signs of the Swarm recently announced their forthcoming sixth full length studio effort, To Rid Myself of Truth. Due out August 22nd via Century Media Records, the album welcomes guitarist and backing vocals in Carl Schulz and reunites the band with accomplished producer Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Mental Cruelty, King 810) who worked with the band on their breakout 2023 release, Amongst the Low & Empty.
Currently on the road for a stretch of European shows that includes upcoming festival plays at Resurrection Fest and Jera On Air, Signs of the Swarm have added to their steam rolling into the release of their new album. Delivering a destructive new single, "Scars Upon Scars" follows the acclaim of the Will Ramos-aided "Clouded Retinas," showcasing Signs of the Swarm's bolster brutality and precision pummel.
'Scars Upon Scars' is about my struggles with addiction," confides vocalist David Simonich. "I tried to make it accessible for anyone who is dealing with addiction: showcasing the depriving lows of withdrawal and highlighting the hunger that is never satiated. I hope someone can take this piece I've given of myself and feel less alone.
With such direct lyrics, I approached my vocals with influences from hardcore bands I like, such as Jesus Piece, Backtrack and Desolated."
Following the band's European excursion, Signs of the Swarm will head out on a North American headlining tour this fall in support of To Rid Myself of Truth with support from Mental Cruelty, ten56., Carcosa, Face Yourself. A complete list of dates, cities and accompanying bands can be found below.
