Skindred Premieres New Music Video for "If I Could"

- By Ramon Gonzales

The clip captures the band's whirlwind year leading up to the delivery of their 2023 LP, Smile, and precedes their highly anticipated sets for this year's Knotfest Australia excursion.

Ragga-metal vanguards Skindred have debuted the latest clip from their lauded 2023 LP, Smile. Filmed and edited by Mark Latham with supplemental footage from Download Festival by Rich Oakes at Dark Fable Media, the clip captures the band's whirlwind year in the months and days leading up to the release of the celebrated album.

Framing the excitement and electricity of the band's live shows, the long days of meticulous work in the studio, the camaraderie amongst the brothers in the band and connection Skindred has with their ever-growing global audience, the video for "If I Could" captures it all and translates as a visual victory lap for the band.

Reflecting on the scope of the album and the significance of the title, charismatic frontman Benji Webbe explained the kind of gratification he gets in sharing his work with the audience.

When I look out into the crowd, whether it’s in a small room or a festival crowd, the one thing I notice above all else is the smiles. In life, it’s about hearing that our music has encouraged people and got them through dark times. But even when we’re done and gone, people will still be listening to this music. That thought makes me smile."

Skindred's infectious positivity and energy along with their transcendent sound have only served to only increase their reach as one of rock music's forerunners. The band took home the hardware as the Best UK Live Act for the 2023 Heavy Music Awards and saw sold out audiences for their headlining UK tour. In addition, Skindred was selected to join KISS for their final UK tour ever, signaling a passing of the torch among rock's most celebratory live experiences.

The arrival of the latest video from Skindred serves to ratchet up the anticipation for the band's upcoming touring itinerary which includes their biggest UK shows to date and a highly-touted appearance at Knotfest Australia 2024 among giants like Pantera, Disturbed, Lamb of God, Halestorm and many more,
