The return of Slayer likely wasn't on anyone's bingo cards this year but in a surprise move - especially given all the momentum of Kerry King's solo project - the kings of thrash have confirmed they will reunite for two high profile sets. The is confirmed to headline the 10th edition of Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY and will make a special appearance at Chicago's famed Riot Fest - both happening this September.
The shows serve as the first performances for the band since they concluded their final world tour back in late 2019.
“Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans and to be honest, we have missed that," said iconic frontman and bassist Tom Araya.
Guitarist Kerry King added, "Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them."
