All hail Slayer.
The pillars of thrash metal have announced two special headlining performances coinciding with the 40th anniversary of one of the most iconic albums in heavy music.
Set to perform Reign in Blood in its entirety, Slayer will takeover the Mystic Lake Amphitheater just outside Minneapolis in September and will return to Los Angeles for the first time in seven years this November for a historic play at The Kia Forum - revisiting the album that redefined the genre and influenced generations of fans since.
The band confirmed the news via their social media outlets and shared, "The fastest, the heaviest, the most uncompromising record in thrash metal history turns 40. SLAYER marks the anniversary with two US headline dates featuring the album performed in full, including their first LA show in seven years."
The latest announcement adds to the band's live itinerary that includes an appearance at Rocklahoma Festival in Oklahoma this September and the band's highly anticipated appearance at Sick New World Texas, set for October 24th in Ft. Worth.
As for the supporting roster on each date, the September 4th performance in Minneapolis will feature sets from DOWN, Suicidal Tendencies and Hatebreed, with the November 13th Los Angeles date featuring support from Cannibal Corpse, Cavalera and Crowbar.
