Slipknot Unveil Official Music Video for The Immortal Epic ’Scissors’

Slipknot Unveil Official Music Video for The Immortal Epic, "Scissors"

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

The clip revisits the band's historic ascent with archived footage showcasing the volatile live experience that propelled Slipknot to the heights of metal.

To herald the arrival of the special 25th anniversary edition of Slipknot's seminal self-titled album, the Iowan pillars have ushered in the wide release of the official music video for one of their most enduring, epic anthems in "Scissors".

Sourcing archival footage from the band's vault, the sharply, stylishly edited clip frames the magnitude of Slipknot's meteoric rise - revisiting early touring cycles from the Ozzfest 1999-era that added to the mythos of the Des Moines gamechangers. Initially released only as a DVD bonus, the clip is now widely available as the band punctuate the important milestone of the debut album's silver anniversary.

Assembled as one of the most comprehensive collections from the band to date, the release compiles some 59 recordings including Slipknot’s legendary Indigo Ranch demos and alternative mixes, live versions and other captured rarities. Among the tracks, 40 of them have been previously unreleased.

Paired with the rollout of the silver anniversary edition, Slipknot unveiled a haunting demo of “Prosthetics” recorded prior to the band entering Indigo Ranch Studios with championed producer Ross Robinson. Framing the depth of the band's sound even before the iconic track was further distilled in the studio, the previously unheard version offered a rare glimpse into the lore of the band.

The band then issued another gem from the archives, delivering the demo version of the beloved, "Me Inside". The track showcases the foundation of the explosive track and offers some context as to how the song would evolve into one of Slipknot's most most raw, powerful anthems.

The deluxe reissue includes the original, Ross Robinson produced self-titled release, in addition to demos, mixes from Jay Baumgardner and Ulrich Wild, the Indigo Ranch sessions and two live LPs revisiting pivotal performances in Hartford, CT, their home state of Iowa and the band's explosive arrival in the United Kingdom. The audio was sources from the soundboard’s digital audio tapes of the performances, remixed and mastered for the first time ever. All of the tracks were chosen by the band to frame the volatility and live intensity of the band's formative initial run.

Physical versions include the 6LP Box Set with blood splattered vinyl, 2LP, and 2CD in addition to the landing on preferred DSPs. The Slipknot 25th Anniversary Edition deluxe reissue is now available via Roadrunner Records. Order the release - HERE
