SPY Announces New EP, 'Seen Enough'

- By Ramon Gonzales

The band's debut on Closed Casket Activities is coupled with the drop of the minute-long slobberknocker of a first single, "Dim".

With the distinction of leaning more into their punk sensibilities as practitioners of modern hardcore, Bay Area standouts SPY have managed to make an impressive amount of headway since their 2019 formation.

Further propelling the band's upward trajectory, SPY has announced their February 21st Closed Casket Activities' debut with the arrival of their new EP, Seen Enough. The concise, six-track presentation which hovers around 10 minutes of pure wallop was recorded by Jack Shirley at Oakland's Atomic Garden.

In an effort to capture the band's live explosiveness and unrelenting energy, the EP was recorded live to tape, opting to bottle lighting rather than polish the steel. Offering a glimpse of the pure adrenaline that SPY frames on Seen Enough, the band have released a bruising preview single in the minute long barrage that is "Dim".

SPY vocalist Peter Pawlak shared of the single, "The song’s recurring line ('you’re the problem but you don’t see it') is just as easily applicable to some of those you may know in your personal life as it is to a wide array of presently prominent public figures. I’m sure you’re just as sick of all of them as I am.”

Along with the arrival of Seen Enough, SPY continue to live up to their earned reputation as road dogs. Performing a special record release show on February 21st in San Francisco, the band also have a handful of domestic spring tour dates along with a pair of US festival appearances including Municipal Waste 25th Anniversary Weekend in Richmond, VA and LDB Fest in Louisville - both this April.

All this before the band heads abroad to participate in European festival season with appearances confirmed at Outbreak Fest this June in Manchester, as well as Hellfest in France, Resurrection Fest in Spain and Jera on Air in the Netherlands. See the complete list of current tour dates below.
