Last year proved a pivotal year for post-hardcore anomaly, Static Dress. Announcing their signing to Roadrunner Records, the band revisited their widely-acclaimed, independently released full length, Rogue Carpet Disaster.
The stylistic post-hardcore amalgam that sourced elements of emo, screamo, metal, pop and electronica was hailed universally as one of the most effective, inventive releases of the year. Produced by Erik Bickerstaffe of Loathe along with Static Dress, the album marked the arrival of the band and asserted a major artistic achievement in the space of heavy music.
Now, Static Dress have begin their next chapter with the reveal of their first new material following their Rogue Carpet Disaster cycle. "Crying" marks the first new single of the year for Static Dress and introduces what looks to be the next phase for the post-hardcore phenoms. Along with the emotive new single, the band have delivered a captivating music video directed by Static Dress themselves.
Along with the arrival of new music, Static Dress will embark on a supporting run with Underoath trekking North America this fall. Additionally, Static Dress will be paired with Underoath for a stretch of UK dates before the lengthy North American tour. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below.
