Metallic hardcore collective Stray From the Path have announced an important new chapter in their career. The band have begun their SharpTone Records era, aligning with the heavy music authority for to release their next installment.

To officially introduce the modern phase of Stray, the band has issued an important reintroduction with the release of the single, "Kubrick Stare". Joining forces with venerated producer and longtime collaborator Willy Putney, Stray From the path furnishes mighty percussion, aggressive guitars and the vocal bite of Drew Dijorio for a weighty slab loaded with social commentary and craft song dynamics.

Guitarist Tom Williams shared of the single, "It felt like we were capturing lightning in a bottle. We built the song around those scary chords. Every day, people on the Internet see the craziest things they've ever seen in their lives. Sometimes, it's hard to feel seriously about these atrocities because we see them all day. You're so numb to it that you're just staring blankly."

Williams further elaborated on the cinematic correlation and how the song underscores a troubling sign of the times. "It's unfortunately become normal, and it's driving us crazy. Hence, the 'Kubrick Stare' reference — which was a tactic Stanley Kubrick used to show a character losing his mind. We're locked into our phones, and we probably look like Jack looking out of the window in The Shining."

The news lands as Stray From the Path is due to begin a brief European run supporting Spiritbox for a stretch of highly-anticipated shows next week. The tour includes special guests Periphery and kicks off February 13th in London before closing out on the 23rd in Hamburg. See the list of dates and cities below.
