Making the two year anniversary of their celebrated 10th full length studio album, extreme metal stalwarts Cattle Decapitation have shared a feature length documentary film, From This Flesh: A Cattle Decapitation Story.
Teaming with Australian videographer Nicholas VanVidler following the success of their first collaboration for the music video for "Finish Them," VanVilder took on the task of shoting, directing and editing the entirety of the in-depth film. Capturing the recording process of the band's album Terrasite, VanVidler was embedded with the band to document the creation.
While the film serves well to bring the scope of Terrasite into focus, VanVilder ultimately cultivates a much broader story, one that examines the history of the band dating back to their very beginning.
Vocalist Travis Ryan shared of the film, "Our buddy Nick VanVidler (NJV Media, Body Prison) went to make a studio documentary about Terrasite and what came out was more of an extremely introspective look into the band as a whole with a specificity on how we write and record albums. It's insightful, intense, funny, sad, unfiltered, immersive, and if you're a longtime true fan of the band, you gotta see this thing."
