Metal music non-conformists Tallah have shared the third single from their September 5th full length, Primeval: Obsession // Detachment. The latest drop follows the assertive pair of preview singles thus far in "What We Know" and "A primeval detachment".

Teaming with longtime producer and collaborator Josh Schroeder, the album includes several important talking points, the first of which includes the pivotal personnel shift of former drummer Max Portnoy moving to bass for album three. Additionally, the album was recorded live with no click track, no punch-in edits and no post polish. This also includes a vocal performance from frontman Justin Bonitz that was recorded in one, live continuous take.

While each single thus far has served to highlight various aspects of Tallah's varied musical attack, the third showing in "augmented" offers a full embrace of the band's nu-metal pedigree. From the track's bouncy cadence, tempo shifts and dynamic composition and layered instrumentation, Tallah put some serious respect on nu-metal's name on their latest.

Speaking on the single, Max Portnoy explained, "Probably the most nu-core track on the record. It feels very reminiscent of where we came from, but still steps in the sonic world of Primeval, with acoustic guitars and live strings at points. The experimentation is sprinkled on every song this album. I also wrote "Augmented" at the peak of my slap bass interest and it made for the most intricate bass track in our discography. So many weird techniques in this one. It's a bitch to play."

Along with the release of album preview in "A primeval detachment," Tallah has launched, The Primeval Game - a playable extension further exploring the concept of the album. The game was designed in collaboration with Enzo Interactive. The immersive, web-based game pits players in the alien world of Primeval: Obsession // Detachment and features monthly updates of new story elements, as well as song teasers other discovery elements and easter eggs.
