Set to join Rise Against and Alkaline Trio next month on a comprehensive North American tour, punk standouts Teen Mortgage have debuted a biting new single with "Democracy Manifest".
The potent pairing of guitarist/vocalist James Guile and drummer Ed Barakauskas deliver a driving, direct statement that fuses high octane punk with scathing social commentary. The single follows the spring release of the raucous "Burn" and the band's continued acclaim from their praised 2025 LP, Devil Ultrasonic Dream.
Teaming with acclaimed animation studio EraserDread, the visual frames a crticialtake on the current state of affairs in the country and makes it very clear where Teen Mortgage stands. The band further explained their message.
"'Democracy Manifest' manifested itself naturally. As the USA draws closer to resembling Big Brother and Oceania in 1984, we needed to vent our frustrations around having to engage with a society that takes everything and gives little to nothing back; each and every facet of American life has become a scam."
Along with the release of "Democracy Manifest," Teen Mortgage are currently touring internationally and have confirmed appearances at both Rocklahoma and Riot Fest set for next month. Following the festival dates, Teen Mortgage join Rise Against and Alkaline Trio for a monthlong trek across the U.S.
