Last month, nu-metal revivalists Tetrach announced plans to launch their third full length studio presentation, The Ugly Side of Me. Arriving May 9th via Napalm Records, the project marks the first studio release since the band's acclaimed sophomore release, Unstable. The album would go onto established Tetrarch as an undeniable force contemporary heavy music and marked the inevitable arrival of guitarist Diamond Rowe as a leading figure among nu-metal's new school.
Tetrarch's own Diamond Rowe and Josh Fore took on production of the album along with the oversight of Dave Otero. First introducing their next phase last fall with the reveal of the single, "Live Not Fantasize" the rock heavy sway of the single reasserted the band into the conversation among metal's emerging names.
Showcasing the vocal debut of Rowe, the band leveled up once again with the anthemic, “Never Again (Parasite)”. Featuring Rowe and Fore trading vocals over a locomotive pace, the well-constructed track combined melody and muscle - emphasizing Tetrarch is back and arguably better than ever.
Now, Tetrarch have delivered a third showing from the album with the single, "Cold". Leaning into the 90's era groove and glitch of nu-metal's salad days, the track offers a tip of the hat to the band' predecessors while paving a lane all their own.
Rowe shared of the latest single, “'Cold' was one of those songs that came together pretty fast. It was one of the first songs that we wrote for the record and once we started building the textures, leads and vocals it really came to life. I feel like it’s kind of a nod to our Freak album as it has that energetic four on the floor beat with glitchy and creepy guitar textures.
While writing this song, we kept throwing around the word “insecure”. Insecurity is such an uncomfortable emotion to have and it easily became the lyrical direction for this track.
I also can’t wait to play this one live. I think everyone is going to go nuts.”
In addition to ramping up for the release of The Ugly Side of Me, Tetrarch has confirmed a handful of European live dates this festival season. Among the confirmed dates include a pair of prestigious festival appearance with sets at Copenhell in Denmark and Resurrection Fest in Spain both on the books. See the list of dates below.
