Metalcore vets The Amity Affliction are prepping for a intensive run of live dates over the second half of the year. Prepping to head out on the massive Summer of Loud package, The Amity Affliction will join Beartooth, I Prevail, Killswitch Engage, and Parkway Drive and more on a bill shaping up to be one of biggest and best of the season.
Ahead of the run, the band have shared new music with an emotional new track in "All That I Remember". Showcasing a healthy balance of hard-hitting grit combined with an introspective disposition, the track covers a broad spectrum of emotion with a convincing performance.
Frontman Joel Birch shared the personal weight of the single, "My mother knew only abuse and isolation, even in death as she cut her own children off. She died as she lived, paranoid and alone."
Offering more insight into the family dynamic of the track, brother Beau Birch echoed the same disheartening account. "Time and again, our mother showed us that she would put herself first, and use life's pain to justify her actions of self-interests, while we were left to fend for ourselves."
While The Amity Affliction have never steered away from traversing emotional source material, the latest single does break new ground for the band. Welcoming Jonny Reeves officially, the arrival of "All That I Remember" serves as the first single to feature the Sacramento-based talent take on clean vocals. Having an established reputation given his work with Kingdom of Giants, Reeves has been in the Amity orbit for the last few tours in North America and Europe. With the latest single, Reeves officially takes on his position, replacing Ahren Stringer who split with the band earlier this year.
