The Amity Affliction Share Tribute to Drummer Joe Longobardi

The drummer announced last week he would be vacating his post after eight years with the band.

Australian powerhouse The Amity Affliction have share a heartfelt tribute video as a show of gratitude for their drummer of eight years, Joe Longobardi. Last week, the drummer shared to her personal platform that he would be ending his time with the band and though the didn't disclose why, the band has confirmed the split is very much amicable. 

Compiling live footage and plenty of tour b-roll, the video gives fans a glimpse of Longobardi's time with The Amity Affliction. The candid look offers a first-hand account of life on the road and a glimpse o f the kind of comradery that has been core to the band. 

The Amity Affliction issued the following statement, "While we’re sad to see Joe go, we are super happy for him to start this next chapter of his life as a father and wish him all the best. Knowing how exceptional he is at drums we’re certain this is just the beginning of a new journey for him, and we look forward to seeing him when we’re stateside again, big love."

Previously, Longobardi said of his departure, "After 8 years I have decided to leave The Amity Affliction. I feel extremely grateful and fortunate to have spent those years with the band. I wish Johnny, Dan and Joel along with the crew nothing but the very best moving forward. It’s been an incredible journey. Thank you all for the love. See you out there."

The Amity Affliction will begin their headlining tour of Europe this September in support of their lauded 2026 LP, House of Cards. The tour includes support from Silent Planet, Varials and Orthodox. A list of dates and cities can be found - HERE
