Following an online tease that sparked healthy conversation among fans, Seattle post-hardcore outfit The Blood Brothers have confirmed they will be reuniting for a run of headlining performances for the first time since 2014.
The impetus for the reunion is the 20th anniversary of the release of the seminal post-hardcore record, Crimes. The fourth full length studio effort from the band, the album would be the first release on a major label and would go onto earn a cult-like following as one of the most beloved entries of the era. The album was co-produced by John Goodmanson and The Blood Brothers.
To commemorate the milestone, The Blood Brothers have also announced a special edition 20th anniversary reissue of the album along with a limited vinyl reissue and a 20th Anniversary Limited Collector’s Edition of Crimes which will include an expanded double LP with B-Sides & etching, plus a twenty-page booklet with new liner notes and photos.
Vocalist Jordan Blilie spoke of the celebration, the anniversary rollout and the kind of enduring spirit that is still evident on the record. “As we've been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Crimes’, what I'm struck by most listening back is the energy. It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we'd been tinkering with had finally crystallized.
It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It's an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we'll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.”
The surprise reunion tour for The Blood Brothers kicks of November 2nd with consecutive nights in San Francisco as well as Los Angeles, their hometown of Seattle, rounded out with back-to-back nights in New York and Chicago. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below.
