Rock icons The Cult have announced the Paradise Now tour which will feature an ambitious pairing of both The Cult as well as the early iteration of the band with Death Cult taking on separate sets. The legendary duo of Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy last revisited the early deathrock incarnation of the band back in 2023 and have revived the era for a special fall tour slated to begin this October.
The tour takes its namesake from the 2024 compilation released last year, marking the 40th anniversary of the band and revisiting some of their earliest works. The Paradise Now tour will showcase both iterations of the band, with Astbury and Duffy taking on the more primitive, deathrock slant of the band prior to the 1984 change to The Cult. In addition, the tandem will deliver a set of The Cult's most definitive tracks spanning the catalog of 11 studio albums from 1984's Dreamtime to 2022's Under the Midnight Sun.
Set as the featured guest on all dates of the fall tour, Actually Huizenga and Andrew Means as genre-bending provocateurs Patriarchy will open the run. The trek begins October 9th in Niagara Falls, ON and concludes appropriately near Halloween with a finale at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on October 30th.
