In a year that has included a stacked touring itinerary, The Ghost Inside continue to stoke their creative fire. Touching down for a UK run with Senses Fail only to double bacf for a US co-headlining summer tour alongside Underoath, in addition to slew of festival appearances both home and abroad, the Southern California collective have steadily introduced a succession of singles, loaded with the band's signature bombast and heartfelt heft.
Thus far in 2023, TGI has debuted the cuts, "Safe and Sound" and followed up with the summer heater, "Earn It" and have now punctuated the year with the third preview of their next chapter with the confrontational, "Death Grip".
Anchored by the band's heavy-wielding guitars and locomotive percussive pace, frontman Jonathan Vigil unloads a visceral vocal performance, while asserting a unique kind of resilience in the face of mortality.
Vigil explains, “Death Grip is a song about survival and defying your fate to create your own destiny. When push comes to shove, believe in yourself. You don’t need a lifeline when you’ve got a death grip.”
The single lands as the band prepare to celebrate their second annual ReBirthday II: Bash at the Beach in San Diego on November 18th. Along with special guests Drain, Gideon, Texas In July and No Bragging Rights, TGI will mark the anniversary of their life-altering tour bus accident on November 19th, 2015 - an incident that saw catastrophic loss and forced the band to come back from the brink to have a second shot at life.
