Barreling towards the October 2nd release of their BLKIIBLK debut album, Liberation Front, Aussie vegan deathcore collective To The Grave has shared their most provocative preview of the presentation thus far with the unflinching, "Torture Porn". Sourcing horrific footage of war, civil unrest and animal slaughter in the name of corporate farming, the latest visual from To The Grave stands as a statement of defiance from the greater collective.
Frontman Dane Evans explains the explicit nature of the track and the intention behind framing such atrocities. "'TORTURE PORN' might be the biggest fight riff song we have. Lyrically, I wanted to state as bluntly as possible that we don’t care if you hate us, what we stand for or how we choose to stand for it; TTG hates you too. Enjoy the song. Everyone’s still a murderer."
Regarded as a leading force in vegan deathcore, the band's steadfast message of activism against environmental deterioration and animal cruelty has remained central to their sound. On the band's fifth full length album, the mission remains the same - only now with a delivery more vicious, more volatile and focused than ever before.
Evans spoke previously to the thematic weight of the band's newest onslaught, "'LIBERATION FRONT' was born as a concept on tour last year in Australia after we decided we wanted to make the sequel to 'Director’s Cuts.' What came out was something between that and a more pissed off brother to 'Everyone’s A Murderer.' It’s got so many things I love about the band and a bit of everything pushed to 100 with a really bleak kind of aggression that’s just reaching for your throat the entire time. Very keen to play some of these songs live and it’s an exciting chapter to add.”
In support of Liberation Front, To The Grave will set out on The Sawed Off Suffering North American co-headlining tour opposite Crown Magnetar. The run begins September 17th in Chicago, IL and wraps October 17th in Denver, CO with support from face Yourself along with I Declare War, Tracheotomy, Backbiter, Squelching and Ameonna in select cities.
