Tony Iommi Announces First Solo Album in More Than Two Decades, 'From the Dark'

Foundational guitarist and heavy metal icon Tony Iommi has announced his first solo studio album in more than twenty years. From the Dark will be released via BMG on October 23rd and serves as the first solo studio album from Iommi since 2005's Fused.  

Iommi worked alongside producer Mike Exeter for the release and enlisted an elite ensemble of musicians to record the album  With Becky Baldwin on bass and drummer Karl Brazil, vocalist Jørn Lande is a recurring featured contributor on the album and featured on the lead single, "World Alone".

 

Teaming with director Ryan Mackfall, the clip for "World Alone" frames a dystopian universe in an epic story salvation. Combined with the incendiary guitar work and composition of Iommi, the single sets the stage for a mammoth new presentation. 

From the Dark also boasts a special guest contribution from Queen guitarist Brian May on the track "Death Wake".
