Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the band's seminal work in the emotive post-hardcore masterclass, Stage Four, Touché Amoré has announced a special anniversary edition of the landmark 2016 release. The anniversary edition of the album arrives April 10th via Epitaph Records, coinciding with the start of the North American leg of the Stage Four 10th anniversary tour.
The expanded edition features a remarkable eleven new tracks, including unreleased demos and remixes with the likes of Cody Votolato of The Blood Brothers, Youth Code and Kerry McCoy of Deafheaven. Unveiling the expanded edition of the album, Touché Amoré has shared the collaborative version of “Rapture (Gloom Edition)” featuring Wisp.
Reimagining the highly emotional anthem, Wisp’s delicate harmony works in tandem with frontman Jeremy Bolm's introspective pen and restrained vocals. The repurposed classic frames the explosive catharsis of the original and channels the same flood of emotion, with a much more subdued approach.
Jeremy Bolm explained, “‘Rapture’ is a staple in our set and has been since the album dropped. Over time, the call and response bit that happens during the bridge has become as much of our show as anything else. I wanted to get Wisp on this track because I’m a big fan of Natalie’s vocal ability for its whispery, breathy nature. It has a haunting element that matched the energy of the song.”
Bolm went onto discuss the move in commemorating the album by revisiting it both with their anniversary touring slate and the expanded re-release: “‘Stage Four’ was a mandatory album for my journey with grief, and the impact it’s had on the band as well as our audience - however heavy or light - feels worth celebrating.”
Next month, Touché Amoré begin their anniversary tour with a US run and a June EU stretch which will feature a performance of Stage Four in full.
