Texas death metal unit Tribal Gaze have announced October 17th as the arrival date for their second full length album and their first via heavy music authority, Nuclear Blast Records. Inveighing Brilliance serves as the first full length studio effort since the band's 2022 debut LP, The Nine Choirs which was followed by the release of their Deadbody EP late last year.
Amid a relentless touring schedule that kept Tribal Gaze consistently clocking miles, the band would eventually capture the attention of legendary A&R, Monte Conner. The connection would ultimately forge the start of a new chapter for the band, eventually leading to their signing with Nuclear Blast Records, setting the wheels in motion for the introductory album on the label with Inveighing Brilliance now a reality.
A powerful assertion of classic death metal onto the contemporary landscape of heavy music, Tribal Gaze's old school pedigree resonates as a breath of fresh air in modern heft. Guitarist Quinn Stauts spoke on the identity of the music and the intention at the heart of all things Tribal Gaze.
“I think this album, like our others, is us trying to create memorable parts in songs. Parts that make you have to rewind and hear it again. The aim is always to make songs that we love listening to. We’re just trying to add something of value to the death metal world. Our single 'Beyond Recognition' is a good representation of where we’re at mentally. Pissed during the fast parts, pissed during the slow parts.”
Offering a preview of the pummel packaged on Inveighing Brilliance, "Beyond Recognition" is a forceful reminder of the band's brawn. Crushing guitars, punishing drums and guttural vocals furnish all the prerequisites for a bonafide death metal haymaker.
Tribal Gaze are currently on the road supporting The Acacia Strain, Bodysnatcher and Ingrown. Following the release of the new album, the band will join Cattle Decapitation, Aborted and fellow Texans Frozen Soul on the No Fear For Tomorrow North American tour.
