Currently trekking on their Doomed Lovers tour with a run of headlining dates, in addition to supporting plays with everyone from Danzig and Acid Bath to Jack White, Satanic doo-wop husband and wife duo Twin Temple continue their impressive run up to the release of their new full length, Doomed Lovers. 

The album - produced by Shooter Jennings, is due out October 9th via Pentagrammaton Records with the physical release hitting stores October 23rd via Secretly Distribution. 

Among the most creatively ambitious work to date for Alexandra and Zachary James, the album beautifully bridges elements of Americana, classic pop, doo-wop, vintage soul and Rhythm and Blues, backed by lush arrangements performed by a 37-piece orchestra.

Thus far previewing the album's scope with singles including "Haunt Me" and the  mesmerizing, "Love You to Death," Twin Temple have now shared the cinematic music video for the album's title track, "Doomed Lovers". Working with analog filmmakers Dante Capone and Fred Joseph, the visual was captured on stunning 16mm film, for a clip that speaks to the timelessness of Twin Temple's sound. 

Zachary James shared the intended depth of the latest video. “‘Doomed Lovers’, to us, carries both a Saturnian darkness and a watery, Venusian beauty. The feeling of light shimmering across the surface of an endless black sea. I had a recurring vision of our last day as lovers on a forsaken Earth: waiting for the world to end, with nothing left but each other and imminent doom upon the horizon."

James further spoke to the vintage aesthetic of the clip, “It was important to us that the video feel like something unearthed rather than manufactured, so we shot the entire video on 16mm film with Dante Capone and Fred Joseph, who used classic Hollywood optical effects and in-camera double exposure techniques. There’s something imperfect and fleeting about film that felt essential to the story, like a lost memory of a world that is already disappearing."

He finished by sharing the thematic weight of the video and how visual representation is still very Twin Temple. “The ocean became the central metaphor. It represents wonder and the unknown, immense power and terrible beauty, and a sense of grandeur- the kind of beauty that swallows you whole. In that way, it felt like love itself. Vast, seductive, dangerous, and ultimately impossible to contain.

We folded in some ritual Magick, nods to Occult filmmaker Kenneth Anger, and the echoes of the Beach Boys singing about surfer girls along the coast. We hope the result is a kind of beautiful lover’s nightmare.”

The arrival of the new visual for "Doomed Lovers" arrives as Twin Temple continue on their run of North America in support of the new album.
