Pure punk rock fury is on full display as Twitching Tongues debut the third EP of their Misfits tribute project, Twitchfits. Establishing an annual tradition two years ago with a both a live set adorned in the iconic warpaint, the brothers Colin and Taylor Young and Twitching Tongues paid homage to the legacy and lasting influence of the Crimson Ghost. .
Having issued their Twitchfits Vol. 1 EP in 2023, Vol. 2 would arrive last year and included faithful renditions of Misfots essentials like “Hybrid Moments,” “Some Kinda Hate,” ““We Are 818” - the band's SFV-centric play on the classic, "We Are 138".
For the third edition of Twitchfits, the SFV flagbearers take it all the way back to the beginning, revisiting 1977 with the introduction of Misfits and the debut track, "Cough/Cool". The artwork for Twitchfits Vol. 3 also offers a tip of the cap, using a riff on the oringal 7-inch artwork.
Spanning 5 vital Misfits' tracks, Twitchfits Vol. 3 includes tried-and-true versions of "Attitude," "Ghouls Night Out," "Angelfuck" and even ropes in the late 90's Maerican Psycho iteration of Misfits with a take on 'Dig Up Her Bones".
In keeping with the annual tradition, Twitchfits will preside over their Halloween show taking place at 1720 in Los Angeles on November 1st. Among the guests featured on the bill include Upon Stone taking on classic Metallica, punk prospects Cosmic Joke performing vital tracks from the Tony Hawk Pro Skater Soundtrack, plus members of Ceremony, Punch, Living Eyes and Urban Sprawl taking on tracks from Minor Threat.
