Adding to a pivotal week for New York death metal unit Undeath, the band are following the recent announcement of their third full length album, More Insane, with the news of a coinciding headlining North American tour.
The More Insane North American tour will span some 25 cities and will feature Undeath showcasing selections from their third full length album via Prosthetic Records. Kicking off September 25th in LoS Angeles, Undeath will close out their tour with a hometown set in Rochester, NY on October 27th - doubling as a record release show.
Confirmed as support for the trek, Undeath have tapped Kruelty, Gates To Hell and rotating opening sets from Tribal Gaze and Torture to add to the strength of the stretch of live dates.
"We're so excited to announce our first ever full-U.S. headlining tour, coming this Fall!" shared Undeath."We've been lucky enough to co-headline with and support so many amazing bands in the past few years, but this tour will be the first time we've struck out on our own headliner across the country.
We're bringing along some amazing bands in Kruelty (all the way from Tokyo!), Gates To Hell (our good friends from Louisville), Tribal Gaze on the first half of the tour (one of our favorite current death metal bands) and Tortureon the second half (a band we've been dying to play with since we first heard them). This is going to be one crazy ass motherfucking slobberknocker of a sicko death metal tour and will unquestionably be the best distorted guitar music tour of the year. Run, don't walk, get your ass to a show and come party with all of us."
Along with the announcement of the new record, Undeath have launched the first attack from the full length with the release of the introductory single, "Brandish the Blade". Among the band's best work to date, Undeath have achieved a new level of craftsmanship, asserting they can make music that is both assaultive and anthemic.
The band share, "'Brandish the Blade' was one of the first songs that came together for 'More Insane' and it's easily one of the most anthemic songs that we've ever written. Specifically it's about a conquering army (probably of the undead, as is our M.O.) moving from battlefield to battlefield and annihilating anything and anyone who gets in their way, but broadly speaking I've always felt that it was a call to arms for all those who believe that death metal in all its unadulterated glory is something worth fighting for. The chorus repeats the line 'The time is now', and I see that as a natural evolution from the chorus of 'Rise from the Grave', which was the first single from our last record. We've risen from the grave, and now it's time to brandish the fucking blade."
Further commenting on the significance of the record, Undeath use some very specific terminology to best convey how the album ranks in their celebrated discography.
