Among heavy music's most respected and in-demand practitioners of metallic noir, Unto Others has announced plans to team with Swedish veterans Tribulation for a co-headlining tour this May. For both artists sharing the top of the bill, the run serves as an important platform to showcase their most recent presentations.
Last year PNW's Unto Others delivered arguably their most complete and well-crafted full length to date with Never, Neverland. Landing on several year-ending best of lists, the full length earned widespread acclaim for its decadent embrace of darkness. Lead by architect Gabe Franco, tracks like "Butterfly", "Raigeki 雷撃" and "Momma Like the Door Closed" asserted a sound that resonated as both classic and contemporary simultaneously.
Tribulation is also riding a groundswell of momentum, closing out 2024 with the debut of their sixth full length album, Sub Rosa In Æternum. Further propelled by their supporting run with Opeth across North America last fall, the veteran outfit's potent meld of gothic opulence, rich melodies and haunting heft was underscored by he band's convincing live set. Rightfully praised for their consistency and songwriting prowess, Tribulation continues to jockey for position of heavy music's dark horse.
The pairing of Unto Others and Tribulation not only makes sense stylistically, but is tandem that has been long in the making given the bands' shared history. Gabe Franco of Unto Others explained, “This has been a long time coming, ever since our first EU tour with Tribulation in 2019 we have wanted to get a tour rolling in the USA. Stoked it’s finally happening. See you on the road.”
The trek is set to kick off May 1st in Chicago, IL. and draws to a close with a final stop in Phoenix, AZ on May 12th. Bolstering the already stacked co-headliner, the tour features supporting sets from hard-hitting deathrock prospects Final Gasp and post-metal, shoegaze standouts Unreqvited. Tickets are set to go on sale February 21st at 10am local time.
