Metalcore standouts Wage War have issued a profound statement with the announcement of their new EP, It Calls Me By Name. The five-track project is due out April 17th via Fearless Records and showcases the band at their most primal. Previewing the EP, the band have shared the pulverizing lead track, "Song of the Swamp," a caustic,  clobbering single derived from the harsh environment of The Sunshine State. 

The band explained the intent of "Song of the Swamp," and how the track emphasizes what fans can expect from the forthcoming EP. "The tone setter. 'SONG OF THE SWAMP' is rooted in where we're from. Driven by Florida and the raw aggression of nature, it's a heavy track built on tension and hostility."

Combining savage vocals, commanding riffs and dominant percussion, Wage War assert they are among the best in the game and operating at a new creative peak. "It Calls Me By Name is about being drawn to your roots. This isn't a concept EP but is meant to live in its own world. Five tracks shaped by Florida, the swamp, and the relentless aggression of nature. Built heavy, but still driven by the hooks that have defined us. It's our signature sound amplified and pushed further into metal than we've ever taken it."

Along with the confirmation of the new EP, Wage War have firmed up plans to hit the road in support of the release with the It Calls Me By Name spring headlining tour. Along with support from Nevetel and Tennessee firebrand Orthodox, the run will begin April 28th in Phoenix, AZ and wrap with a powerful homecoming in St. Petersburg, FL on May 31st.
