It's being called the "greatest heavy metal show ever" by musical director Tom Morello and based on the initial announcement, it certainly stacks up that way.
Back to the Beginning is set for July 5th in Villa Park in Birmingham and will mark the final performance from Ozzy Osbourne. Black Sabbath will headline the special event and it will mark the first time that Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward as the original line-up of the iconic band have played together in 20 years.
Among the supporting bands slated to participate in the generational event, Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon are all confirmed to perform - making for a truly historic happening.
Additionally, there will be performances from the likes of Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, Lzzy Hale, Jonathan Davis, KK Downing, Mike Bordin, Papa V Perpetua, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Sleep Token and more paying tribute to the life and legacy of Ozzy Osbourne.
Proceeds from the show will directly benefit Cure Parkinson's, the Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice, a Children's Hospice supported by Aston Villa.
Globally, Back to the Beginning will also be available for worldwide streaming audience. The broadcast will begin The raw livestream will begin at 3pm BST on July 5th. Fans who purchased the stream will be able to access the full day of performances for an additional 48 hours following the event.
