South Florida deathcore practitioners Traitors have hurled a molotov ahead of the February 21st drop date of their fifth studio album, PHOBIAS. Following the previously released entries from the album with "SBC" and "Release", the band have delivered another walloping track from the project in "No Witness".
Doubling down on the band's dominate brand of downtempo, the impact of "No Witness" is intentionally devastating -making for a dramatic drubbing of a deathcore track.
"'No Witness' captures the overwhelming sense of isolation and internal chaos that comes with battling mental health struggles," the band shared regarding the single.
"The song plunges into a mind in turmoil, where no one else can see or understand the depth of anguish within. The relentless weight of negative thoughts, self-doubt, and despair is vividly portrayed, as the lyrics wrestle with the desire for relief and the crushing reality of feeling trapped in one's own head. Dark, raw, and introspective, 'No Witness' reflects the inner war with no escape in sight."
Vocalist Tyler Shelton went onto explain how PHOBIAS builds upon the themes explored on the band's previous entries. "As a successor to the EP Night Terrors, this collection of tracks amplifies the intensity, confronting fears and personal demons head-on. The lyrics paint vivid pictures of isolation, manic episodes, self-loathing, and violent outbursts. Each song grapples with the overwhelming weight of trauma, regret, and fractured identity, offering no resolution but instead laying bare the relentless mental battles within. It's an unfiltered expression of pain and the struggle to survive amidst chaos."
