Set to release the highly-anticipated follow up to 2022's Darkbloom, Michigan metalcore collective We Came As Romans have served up the fourth preview from their next full length, ALL IS BEAUTIFUL...BECAUSE WE'RE DOOMED.
Adding to the acclaim the album has earned thus far with the series of effective singles in "bad luck," "no rest for the dreamer," and "culture wound," the latest from We Came As Romans underscores the band's knack for balancing serious heft with convincing emotion. On "where did you go?" WCAR craft an emotive anthem packed with sincerity that radiates from the song's slow burn, towering hooks and stylized atmospherics.
Frontman Dave Stephens offered his take on the new track. "Where did you go was one of the final songs we wrote for the album, and it came together in a way that just felt special. From the first few notes, we knew it had a completely different energy— way moodier than anything we'd done so far on the record."
Stephens would go onto explain the meaning loaded on the latest track and the personal impact of the latest album preview. "Where Did You Go? is about the haunting feeling of being left without answers. It's about losing a part of yourself. When we wrote it, we were reflecting on a version of ourselves we felt disconnected from—the parts of ourselves we used to believe in, the ones with better habits, more clarity, more hope. The production instantly brought me back to nights of driving around at night when I was younger and gave me this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia for a time when life felt a lot simpler. The nostalgia is real, but so is the growth that comes with asking yourself those hard questions."
En route to the August 22nd arrival of ALL IS BEAUTIFUL... BECAUSE WE'RE DOOMED via SharpTone Records, We Came As Romans are currently out on their Bad Luck World Tour. The run concludes on August 23rd with a hometown performance in Detroit and features support from After The Burial, Currents, and Johnny Booth. Following the domestic trek, the Bad Luck World Tour will explore Europe and the UK this fall with Brand Of Sacrifice. A list of remaining dates can be found below. Get tickets - HERE
