Sheffield stalwarts While She Sleeps have confirmed their sixth full length studio effort, Self Hell, will arrive on March 15th of 2024. The news precedes the band’s biggest headlining play to date, with While She Sleeps drawing close to a sold out show at London’s famed Alexandra Palace later this month.

Along with the confirmation of the new album, the band have kicked off their latest campaign with the debut of the album’s title track along with a rousing music video that showcases the infectious quality of the introductory single.

Expanding their creative plain more than a decade into their tenure, While She Sleeps rope in a myriad of less conventional influences on their sixth studio effort. Implementing additional instrumentation including vintage synths like the Korg MS-20 and the Behringer TD-3, the band dare to source influences like Aphex Twin, Gorillaz, Bicep, The Prodigy and Kendrick Lamar and integrate them into a heavy rock record.

Speaking to the creative breadth of the album, guitarist Sean Long explained, We’ve been drawing inspiration from an array of misfit artists far from where you would usually pigeonhole While She Sleeps. Each member has brought in a different perspective of inspiration so far apart in genre that it has left us with a very odd and satisfying sonic. While She Sleeps will continue to keep the world guessing on what we will do next. Not only for the fans but this is a spiritual venture that we have to keep alive, moving, and constantly in flux. We do this by scaring ourselves with things we are not supposed to do.

Every. Single. Day.”

As for the message loaded in the title track and why it serves as the official introduction, Long offered his perspective and how the album resonates personally. “The name of the album is the foundation of how we view ourselves and the world. Everyone has a subjective experience like no other. Yet the constant that binds us IS the differences between us and the fact that we are all suffering in our own way. Don’t be too quick to judge and demonise, your time will come for redemption or damnification.”

In addition to the movement with the new album announce, While She Sleeps will celebrate their biggest headlining show thus far with a September 23rd date at Alexaandra Palace in London. From there, the band embarks on a brief European run before touching down in China, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand in December to close out the year.
