There's likely a strong chance that in the last few days, your social media feed has serviced you some video content from a new, masked band going by Locus Ultra. The enigmatic unit made their live debut over the weekend aboard the Emo's Not Dead Cruise along with the likes of The Used, Chiodos, Hawthorne Heights, State Champs, Saosin, Norma Jean and more.
As speculation continues to swirl around the band, their explosive live set and their emphatic message of shared experience and artistic integrity is one that makes the band's air of mystery that much more intriguing.
In addition to the band's set aboard the E.N.D. cruise, Locus Ultra has begun a brief, three date stretch of support dates, opening for post-hardcore stalwarts Norma Jean. The trifecta of Florida dates, along with Limbs as the night's opener, further fuel the online hypothesis that connects Locus Ultra with veteran post hardcore gamechangers, Underoath.
The latin phrase "Locus Ultra" was subtly featured on the three most recent single releases from Underoath including "Generation No Surrender", "Teeth" and "Survivor's Guilt". The IRL manifestation of Locus Ultra now has fans buzzing that masked unit seems to be pointing in a very clear direction.
Along with the band's recent performances, a sort of performative manifesto is is shared with the audience following the performance. The message from the band can be read after the jump.
