Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor took swift action to help in the ongoing efforts to provide assistance during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Partnering with eBay, Taylor hosted an online auction with some 13-signed guitars selected from his personal collection. The auction took place towards the end of April and the first week of May, giving fans the chance to secure a piece of rock music history.

With final the final tally crossing the $75,000 threshold, eBay made the commitment to match the donations making the grand total generated over $150,000. The proceeds will benefit Direct Relief, a non-profit organization working to deliver personal protective equipment and other essentials to medial personnel all on the frontlines of the fight against Covid-19.

Among the collectibles that were up for bids included a rare, numbered Dave Grohl Signature model Gibson DG-335. The gold guitar is one of 400 in the world.

As part of eBay’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 emergency, from now through May 31, eBay will match dollar for dollar, up to $1 million, when you support DIRECT RELIEF.
