Dethklok Lead a Marathon Metalocalypse

See images from the band's Los Angeles tour stop following their recent co-headlining trek opposite Amon Amarth on the AmonKlok Conquest.

Commemorating 20 years of METALOCALYPSE, Dethklok descended upon Los Angeles on a series of solo headlining dates following the co-headlining run with Viking metal horde, Amon Amarth on the AmonKlok Conquest of North America

Razor sharp, fresh off one of the biggest tour tandems of the season, Dethklok unloaded a marathon set spanning the Metalocalypse cannon. Executed in four acts, sourcing from each of the four Dethalbum entries, the animated unit of William Murderface, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Nathan Explosion, Pickles, and Toki Wartooth came to life onscreen while the stage prowess of Brendon Small, Nili Brosh, Pete Griffin and The Atomic Clock Gene Hoglan put on a clinic of metallic mastery.

Opening with the back-to-back blitz of "Dethanthem" coupled with "Awaken," the high bar of greatest hits and fan favorites was instantly established - ensuring the most hardcore fans would more than get their fill. From the headbanging revelry of "Face Fisted" to the band's more contemporary anthems in brutal "Aortic Desecration," every selection on the night came with its own significant subtext.

Holstering some of the heaviest hits for the live finale, Dethklok's closing act featured some of their most ferocious cuts with pummel of "Murmaider" paired with the shred of "Thunderhorse". Completing the crash course of the last two decades of Dethklok, the band's finale included a rendition of "Go Into the Water" that was pure metallic parade - showcasing the innovation and live intensity of one of metal most beloved passion projects.

Along with supporting sets from emerging hardcore punks in XCOMM and Los Angeles veteran melodic metal specialists in Thrown Into Exile, the night's Metalocalypse proved massive. See the gallery of images from the performance below captured by Maurice Nunez.
