The Saturday at Aftershock offered a wildly stacked succession of bands - one that delivered with both the greatest hits and the next generation.
At the very top of the bill, Korn submitted the kind of career-spanning set that framed not only a commanding California showing, but emphatic close to the band's touring year - completing their 2025 itinerary. Along with a heartfelt tribute to the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne, the legends established their position firmly atop heavy music's upper echelon, unleashing a myriad of essential hits that sent the field into a frenzy.
Not to be outdone by the likes of Gojira, Chevlle and a 20th anniversary Ascendency set from Trivium, the takeaway from the third day at Aftershock is undoubtedly heavy music's emerging class. With Russian deathcore powerhouse Slaughter to Prevail and cinematic rock leaders Bad Omens leading the way, sets from Imminence, Sunmai, Scowl and Dying Wish made for some of the most important instances of the weekend.
Combining spectacle with sheer energy, every stage offered a compelling reason to hustle and navigate set times to ensure nothing was missed - as each set had the potential to offer a can't-miss moment. From Trash Talk's Lee Spielman howling into the mic while standing on the shoulders of the fans, to Alex Terrible commanding the Wall of Death - day three at Aftershock was a blockbuster.
