The director of Green Room and Rebel Ridge teams up with Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for next year’s must-see horror swing

A24 is inviting audiences next year to enter a haunted house from Hell. The studio has finally unveiled the first full trailer for Slayground, the upcoming thriller from acclaimed Green Room and Rebel Ridge filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier, offering a brutal glimpse at a Halloween nightmare that looks to be every bit as vicious as the director’s previous work.

Starring Cory Michael Smith (The Sun Never Sets, Gotham), Chase Sui Wonders (I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Studio), and Sophie Wilde (Digger, Talk to Me), Slayground follows scare actor “Metal Mike” Graves, who awakens inside a haunted attraction surrounded by the corpses of his coworkers with no memory of what unfolded. With a statewide manhunt closing in, Mike must piece together what happened before the trail leads straight back to him.

The new trailer teases blood-soaked fights for survival, with masked killers, grisly discoveries, and terrified visitors caught in the middle of a nightmarish attraction. The footage builds on the unsettling security-camera teaser that first surfaced ahead of theatrical screenings of Resident Evil, keeping the film’s central mystery intact while offering a clearer look at Saulnier’s latest descent into genre chaos.

Saulnier has made a name for himself with relentlessly tense films that place ordinary people in extraordinary situations, from the punk-rock siege of Green Room to the corruption saga action of Rebel Ridge. Slayground looks poised to bring that same intensity to a setting where fear itself is wholly ingrained into the entertainment.

The ensemble also includes Stanley Simons (The Iron Claw), Young Mazino (The Last of Us, Beef), Imogen Poots (Outer Range, Hedda), Matty Matheson (The Bear), James Badge Dale (Violent Ends), and Stephen Root (Widow’s Bay). The soundtrack is being written by none other than Nine Inch Nails creative duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, adding yet another exceptional score to their body of work.

‘Slayground’ will arrive exclusively in theaters on January 29, 2027.
