Behold the First Look at Robert Eggers' Take on 'Nosferatu'

- By Nicolas Delgadillo

The director of The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman takes a crack at a remake of the iconic silent film

Even with only three feature films under his belt, filmmaker Robert Eggers has already established himself as a prominent and distinct voice on the movie scene. 2015's The Witch helped usher in a new age of dread-inducing horror as well as introduced the world to Anya Taylor-Joy, 2019's The Lighthouse felt like it instantly became a cult classic favorite, and 2022's The Northman had the director flexing his muscles with an epic tale on a bigger budget.

Anticipation for Eggers' next project has been huge, and the wait is almost over. This Christmas, the acclaimed director will be releasing what he's called his true passion project: A brand new take on the legendary silent film Nosferatu

Focus Features has just dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming film, along with the official description of: "Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake."

Bill Skarsgård will likely be appearing in audience's nightmares all over again as he stars in the film as the creeping and sinister Count Orlok. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corin, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson, and Simon McBurney.

31 Days of Horror (2024 Edition)

(Written by Dustin Meadows) October is here again, and that means the official beginning of spooky season. Even for those of us who celebrate spooky season year round, it’s a great excuse to watch a horror movie every day of the month (and every day the rest of the year as well), and sometimes it can be hard to make selections when we’re inundated with so many options in our own collections and an overwhelming amount of options on various streaming services.
