The Sorcerer Supreme and the Scarlet Witch team up to tackle the multiverse in next year's Marvel adventure

Originally shown exclusively in theaters for Marvel fans waiting after the credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the very first trailer and poster for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has just been released. Following the tears through reality and time caused by the events of WandaVision, Loki, and Far From Home, Doctor Strange is left to deal with the consequences and fallout of a multiverse that is rapidly falling to pieces.

Benedict Cumberbatch returns for his second solo outing as the caped Sorcerer Supreme, and in seems he'll be pulling double duty as the trailer also gives us a look at an alternate and far more menacing version of the character. Fans of Marvel's animated What If...? series may recognize the evil doctor and know just how much of a powerful threat he becomes.

Benedict Wong returns as the master of minding his own business, Wong, who will likely get roped directly into the adventure this time around whether he likes it or not. Rachel McAdams will also be making her second appearance in the MCU after the original 2016 Doctor Strange as Dr. Christine Palmer, as will Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Strange's mentor and friend who has now turned against the sorcerers and wishes them all to be exterminated.

Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff will also play a prominent part in the multiverse hopping film, fully embracing her identity as the Scarlet Witch and assisting Strange on his journey. This will also be the very first appearance of superhero America Chavez AKA Miss America, part of the new younger crop of future Avengers. She'll be played by The Baby-Sitters Club star Xocchitl Gomez.

But what's most exciting about Multiverse of Madness is the fact that the one and only Sam Raimi is directing it, which marks not just the legendary filmmaker's return to the world of superheroes after his groundbreaking Spider-Man trilogy, but his first film in nine years. Equally as legendary composer Danny Elfman will be doing the score, and with a script from Loki and Rick and Morty writers Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron, it's sure to be one of the most mind-bending and exciting Marvel movies yet.

'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' comes to theaters May 6th, 2022.

31 Days of Horror (2024 Edition)

(Written by Dustin Meadows) October is here again, and that means the official beginning of spooky season. Even for those of us who celebrate spooky season year round, it’s a great excuse to watch a horror movie every day of the month (and every day the rest of the year as well), and sometimes it can be hard to make selections when we’re inundated with so many options in our own collections and an overwhelming amount of options on various streaming services. So I’ve dug deep into my own personal preferences to give you some daily theme prompts to help...
