‘The Matrix Resurrections’ (HBO Max)
Return to the Matrix once again in the final blockbuster of the year, with Keanu Reeves as Neo once again finding himself trapped in a simulation concocted by mysterious forces. Things get very meta this time around as Neo attempts to make sense of his current world that includes a workplace boss that speaks in a familiar cadence (Jonathan Groff) and a therapist (Neil Patrick Harris) that may not have his best intentions at heart. With the help of a woman named Bugs (Jessica Henwick) and his old friend Morpheus (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), he’ll need to unplug in order to rescue Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and find out what’s happened in the decades since their disappearance.
‘Don’t Look Up’ (Netflix)
From Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up follows Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio), who make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem - it's on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care. Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate. With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a media tour that takes them from the office of an indifferent President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her sycophantic son and Chief of Staff, Jason (Jonah Hill), to the airwaves of The Daily Rip, an upbeat morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it's too late proves shockingly comical - what will it take to get the world to just look up?

‘Encanto’ (Disney+)

‘The Suicide Squad’ (HBO Max)
Back on HBO Max after its all too brief run during its theatrical release, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has returned. In one of the best superhero films of the past few years, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena) and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.
‘Bulgasal: Immortal Souls’ (Netflix)
This series tells the story of a woman (Kwon Nara) who repeats death and reincarnation as a human for 600 years and remembers her past lives, and a man (Lee Jin-wook) who cannot kill nor be killed and has lived for the past 600 years as a bulgasal—a mythical creature that feeds off human blood and is cursed with immortality.
‘Being the Ricardos’ (Amazon Prime Video)
From Aaron Sorkin, Being the Ricardos is set in 1952, as Hollywood power couple Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) face personal and professional obstacles that threaten their careers, their relationship, and their hit television show I Love Lucy.
‘King Tut in Color’ (Disney+)
A century after the world’s most sensational archaeological find, of the tomb of Tutankhamun, now witness the dramatic scenes of its discovery and marvel at its extraordinary treasures, exactly as they were seen then, in colour. It’s all thanks to the latest colourisation techniques which use detailed historical research to bring the Egypt of discoverer Howard Carter back to life.
‘The Silent Sea’ (Netflix)
This Korean series is part sci-fi, part mystery and part thriller. During a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.
‘Black Jesus’ (HBO Max)
This Adult Swim series spotlights Jesus (Gerald “Slink” Johnson) living in modern-day Compton, California, trying to spread love and kindness throughout his neighbourhood on a daily basis. Mostly assisting in his mission is a small-but-loyal group of downtrodden followers. The live-action series was created by Aaron McGruder, who previously brought the animated favourite The Boondocks to Adult Swim.

Former Avenger Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible?
