Bad Omens sat down with resident Knotfest podcasters Sophie K and Yasmine Summan of On Wednesdays We Wear Black during their U.K. leg of touring to chat about becoming Tik Tok’s favourite band, the relationship between fans and artists, and explore the making of their latest album, The Death Of Peace Of Mind.

During the 45-minute, in-depth interview frontman Noah Sebastian and Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson touched on a variety of topics, merch cuts being a huge one. “If the amount you’re being paid to play is the amount you're paying the venue (in merchandise cuts) you’re playing for free. That makes no sense,” Sebastian explained.

He also stated that though fans may suggest a model of buying online and picking up merchandise at the show, he says that in itself is missing the point and putting the responsibility on bands is not the way forward. “Whatever the answer is I don’t want it to be making touring more complicated logistically for artists. It needs to change at the venue. On the managerial side. On the booking agents side.”

The pair also discuss how they balance their relationship with fans online, and the pet peeves they have when it comes to online rumours.
