A24 Unveils Trailer for the new, satire heavy slasher: 'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies'

The film's tagline reads: "This is not a safe space"

Horror continues to be diverse and innovative at the moment and while the slasher side of the genre may be a bit over reliant on existing franchises, plenty of originals are still breaking through. A24 has been branching out a bit and beginning to deliver scary flicks that have a bit more energy and humor than say, Hereditary or The Witch.

Bodies, Bodies, Bodies is the latest film from acclaimed Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn. She's assembled an impressive cast for her English debut: Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, Lee Pace and Pete Davidson make up the main cast and early reviews have piled on praise for their performances.

The official poster for 'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies'

"When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game goes awry in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong." Part slasher, part whodunnit, part black comedy, part social satire, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies examines modern day friendship and appearance in a very bloody and humorous way. The film's story comes from Kristen Roupenian, best known for her 2017 short story Cat Person, which was published in The New Yorker and quickly went viral.

Sadly, it does not appear that Drowning Pool was called in to contribute to the soundtrack. Hollywood has failed us again. There is however a new original song from Charli XCX called 'Hot Girl' that's now out. Check out the trailer below.

'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies' comes to theaters August 5th 2022.
