The confirmation of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, a Resident Evil 4 DLC drop and the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth top this week’s headlines.

The weekly gaming news round up to catch you up on this week’s news.
One of the main attractions of Nintendo Direct is the new game announcements and this year was no different. Nintendo announced that these two eternal foes will be back at it again this coming February. Donkey Kong will once again attempt to stop Mario from foiling his plans. I don’t know about anybody else but I am getting sick of Donkey Kong getting such a bad rep. Watch the trailer above.
Another Nintendo Direct announcement coming this week is F-Zero 99 and it is available for all Switch online members now. Similar to the Nintendo Switch take on Tetris 99, this is a Nintendo classic morphed into a battle Royale and may the best player win. F-Zero was good enough at making me “controller breaking” mad in its original form, this is about to be 100 times worse. See you on the track.
The fan favorite Ada Wong will once again become a playable character in the Resident Evil 4 remake. The DLC Separate Ways will follow Ada as she travels alongside the main storyline. The expansion will also include a free update to The Mercenaries time attack mode as well. Coming on September 21st get ready to mow down the deranged town’s people and the creatures that lurk beneath El Pueblo.
With a mostly quiet State of Play Playstation attempted one final knockout punch with the FFVII Rebirth release date and trailer. While this is a derailment from the original FFVII story it still leaves us with all of the things we loved about the original even down to the double disc physical copy. Escaping Midgard will still feel just as awesome as it did even with the new twist and turns. Rebirth is out on the PS5 on February 29th 2024.
