The five minute long prologue shows the ancient world of dinosaurs and the bold new direction the franchise is taking

Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World trilogy will finally come to a close next summer with the release of Jurassic World: Dominion. The revival of the Spielberg classic Jurassic Park franchise has been met with massive box office cash and legions of new fans. Following the events of Fallen Kingdom, the new film will see humanity now facing a reality where dinosaurs now exist on the mainland. Needless to say, there's gonna be an adjustment period.

An original five minute prologue was originally released alongside IMAX screenings of F9, and has only just now been officially released online. It rockets audiences back 65 million years into the past to experience the world before humans existed—and offers a glimpse of a world in which dinosaurs are living among us.

The new film will bring back the new trilogy cast like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and Omar Sy, but it will also feature the original cast of the original film: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and even BD Wong.

Trevorrow stated, "Ellie and Grant and Malcolm are on this full adventure, they’re a huge part of it, and equal partners to Owen and Claire and Maisie and our new characters we’ve brought in. The challenge of a movie like that is to give every character their due, to honor everybody. That’s part of what this prologue is about; I felt that if we didn’t have this in the story, that the T-Rex wasn’t being honored. She’s a character too."

'Jurassic World: Dominion' stomps its way into theaters on June 10th, 2022.
