In addition to the five-year deal, Sirius XM will keep the exclusive audio and visual rights to the complete Stern catalog for seven years.

Legendary broadcaster Howard Stern has finally solidified a 5-year contract extension with satellite radio giant Sirius XM that will likely see Stern close out his career on the platform.

Stern has continued to hint at the possibility of hanging it up but broke the news to his fanbase that he will be on the microphone for an additional five-year stretch.

It's been reported that Howard Stern earns anywhere 80 million a year with the new deal inching upwards of 120 million a year as the brand's most coveted personality. In relation to his earnings, it should be said that Howard's long-tenured morning show and dedicated stations (Howard 100 and Howard 101) account for nearly 40 million subscribers to the Sirius XM platform.

In addition to the man on the mic, Sirius has acquired the audio and visual rights to the complete Howard Stern achieve of shows. This portion of the deal extends for seven years. Stern has been with Sirius XM since 2006 and addressed the deal with his audience live on the air.

"Fifteen years ago, I joined SiriusXM, a fledgling group of broadcasters. I had been in a toxic relationship with terrestrial radio," the broadcaster explained. "And no matter how well I treated the medium, no matter how successful I made them, they abused me. Going to SiriusXM liberated me. I felt like Tina Turner freeing myself from Ike."

Stern added, "And despite the naysayers and the ridicule, we have persevered and are thriving. I've been proven right about satellite radio over and over again. With this contract renewal, I can't wait to see what else I'll be right about. Certainly, I have a lot more to say about Metamucil crackers and stepmom porn. Plus, now that I can work from home, I simply don't have an excuse to quit."
